About Me

I'm just a granny from Cleveland that has a passion for poetry, loves the stage, and I absolutely adore my family. I recently obtained (actually was given) a huge space to utilize as I choose. My plans are to house an Afrocentric Learning Center for people of all ages. The daytime hours are devoted to Senior Citizens. After 3 PM we hold an After School Latch-Key Programs in the Arts. The evening is when we create Theatre. I am known about town by thousands of young people as "MotherRapper". I rap the positive. In 1983 I told my own children that Rap was nothing but poetry with a beat. They challenged me to write a rap and I did. It is called, "The Homemaker's Rap". I am presently working on a CD called, "Righteously Radical Raps". I am co-founder and senior-partner with a Premiere Tour Company called 1 + 1 PRODUCTIONS. We have toured the Midwest for the past 16 years. I have taught children Drama/Theatre and Creative Writing for the past 28 years. I have performed on stage as an actor for 22 years. I've written over 20 plays for adults, and children. There are more than 5,000 poems in my portfolio.

I thank God for my many talents, and gifts. I adore my family. After having three grandsons, I finally have a granddaughter, and another grandchild due in June, 2009. My babies are my world. Well...my husband of nearly 36 years is too. I love my life.

Funny that you should mention mummers...
I was a Philadelphia mummer once... a very long time ago. Marched up Broad Street of a cold New Years Day... with Trilby String Band... made up as a woman (because women were banned from the parade in those days), playing music from "Hello Dolly."

I'll act as Bukowski's stand-in, if you want?
I HAVE been called "dick head" at times.
But I'll only admit to being a "thick Mick"... at times.
Haven't had a good knock-down, dragged-out, cotton-mouth producing conversation
in many a year.
I like your stuff, here.
By the way... I don't frequent bars anymore either... but I do indulge in a glass, or two, of wine often.
