Not a ½ mile down the road the car pulled hard to the right. Tessa slowed down and pulled to the side of the road and stopped. "Ahh great...just wonderful." She shut the car off and got out, walking around the front of the car to the right side. The tire was flat. "This is fuckin' great!" she said under her breath as she knelt down and looked at it, hoping that the tire wasn't ruined. She stood up and shook her head, pissed. She walked back to the driver's side and got in, slamming the door as the two black trucks flew by blaring their horns. She stared at them holding her breath. "Don't stop...keep going." She muttered to herself. Pushing in on the inside corner of her left eye, she pushed hard as if her head had begun to hurt. "Dammit!"
She jumped she heard a tap on her window, looking up into the eyes of a young man. She rolled her window slightly down.
"You need help?" he asked with a killer smile.
"Aahh no. I can call Triple AAA..thanks anyway."
"I can change it for you…no problem." He said, giving her a grin once more.
Tessa sat thinking for a moment and gazed around. At least there was a lot of traffic at the moment. "That would be great. Thanks."
She opened the car door and got out, bending over inside to pull the key from the switch. He smiled as he watched her, and then glanced back to the van with a huge grin shaking his head. She stood up and pushed the trunk button and walked to the back of the car. It popped open and she found herself looking back at the van behind her car. He pulled the tire out and she grinned as his arms flexed when he did so. The wind blew his blue tank top open showing his hard tanned chest. She tried so hard not to smile, biting her lip. "Thank you. I really appreciate your help." she said softly.
He turned to her and smiled, "No problem." he said, giving her a seductive smile. He was a few inches taller than she was, nicely put together, and the smile alone was almost too much for he. His eyes were hidden by steel rimmed mirrored sunglasses but his heavenly lips were in full view. She followed him to the front, trying not to stare at his ass. She took a deep breath, blowing it out slowly as she suddenly felt hot inside.
He started jacking up the car and then turned looking up at her, "You really shouldn't be out on the interstate alone...it's getting dark."
Tessa smiled, "I am fine...really...than ks for your concern."
He squatted before the tire unscrewing the lug nuts with such skill it was almost erotic. He pulled the tire off and rolled it to the side and then grabbed the other and slid it on. Tessa jumped lightly as another guy appeared behind her, "You got it man?" he asked.
"Yeah. I'm just about done."
The guy was about the others height with shoulder length straight blond hair and a close shaven mustache and goatee. He smiled at her as he crossed his arms, tribal tattoos running from his shoulders to his wrists. "From Nebraska huh?"
"Yeah. I am."
"Long ways from home aren't ya?"
"Just a little." she said as she looked down at her feet nervously."
"You really shouldn't travel alone." He said, his voice deep and smooth.
She glanced up and smiled, "So I've heard…thanks for the advice."
"Nice car."
"I like it." she said, wanting them to get the job done and be gone.
The other one got up and let the car down and handed the blond the jack with a cocky smile. He grabbed the tire and carried it the trunk, putting it in, "I'd get a new one as soon as you hit the Twin Cities."
"I will...thank you."
He moved aside as the other bent in and put the jack in the trunk. He stepped back and hesitated a moment as the other walked slowly up behind her. She didn't hear him. "I need to go...thanks again." she said softly.
"You headed to St. Paul?" he asked softly.
She was nervous now, "Yeah...I'm meeting somebody."
She jumped as the one behind her spoke up. "Lucky guy."
She turned and glanced at him as the trunk slammed closed, and then she turned to look back at the other. Tessa sighed in relief as state patrol officers' car pulled up chirping his sirens at them as he pulled in front of her car. He got out and walked towards her, "Everything ok here?" he asked sternly.
"Aahh yeah...fine. I had a flat tire. They changed it for me."
"Then you need to get moving." he said impatiently.
"Yes sir. I'm just leavin." she said, feeling unnerved. She turned to the dark headed man and gave him a small smile, "Thank you."
He returned her smile easily, "Anytime." He turned and walked away with the blond.
Tessa quickly got into her car sweating bullets; a chill ran down her spine as she pulled out, knowing the officer was watching her leave. She watched her rear view mirror as the men got into the van and pulled out into traffic, moving quickly up behind her. They flew passed blowing the horn; she stared at it until it was gone.
