For as long as I can remember, I've been writing. I wrote my first book when I was 8. Nothing major, just a little picture book for school using thumbprints as illustrations. Something about that project sparked my imagination and I never stopped writing after that. (No, the story wasn't good, but cut a little slack...I was 8).
Since that time, I've completed 4 novels and have several more in various stages of development. I'm blessed to have a husband who puts up with all my time at the computer and who hasn't yet called the men in white coats during the times I've rambled about new ways to kill people.
I look forward to the day when I can share my writing with all of you.

Say, would you be interested in writing my author biography?

I don't know what could have happened to the book... I don't have any more to send out right now, I'll get you another but in the meantime, I can send you the PDF. You'll have it in a matter of minutes.

Hey, Jen, how've you been? I've finally managed to put up my experience with self publishing in my blog. Maybe it'll answer some more of the questions you've got. I'll ttyl.

Aw, thanks!!!! I don't really write a lot of poetry so it's always extra special when someone enjoys it. :)

I love writing, I just get distracted easily. haha I've got like, ten different ideas constantly flowing through my mind. Sometimes I just consider writing multiple things at once...not sure how that would work out.
Haha, yeah, everyone hates editing their own work...it's like, criticizing your own child...>.< If you're ever unsure about a page or so, send it my way. I'm no pro, but I also don't charge. lol
Good luck with all of that. = P

I get exactly what you mean. Since I usually have so many ideas running through my head, I often work on more than one project at a time. It works well for me.

Oh wow, so you might just start out pretty well with 4 novels uner your belt? That would be quite the good start. Good luck with that, publisher's (or so I hear) are more likely to accept your stuff if they know you've got something else planned or lined up for the next release.
Anyway, very impressive. I'll try to keep updated.

Thanks! I love to write so getting the novels written is no problem for me...it's the editing that proves to be the real challenge.

Yes, your About Me says you've completed 4 novels. Are any published?
Either way, published or not, completing 4 novels is a big deal, I've yet to finish one...>.< So even that is something to be proud of.

Nope, not published yet. I'm still working on the final edits so I can publish within the next few months. :D

Oh, if that's the case, you're doing even better than I thought. Keep at it. = )

Yep. Novel writing is more my thing. Poetry is just a new hobby, of sorts.

Being an author is a lot like living with multiple personalities...

Being an author is a lot like living with multiple personalities...
At least, that's the way it is for me. It doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing, there is always sure to be about seven snippets of random character dialogue running through my head. If I was in the midst of working on a book then that would be perfect, but sadly, hearing the banter of a killer tormenting their prey isn't normally the sort of thing I need running through my head during a meeting at work. Then again, neither is a bit of slapstick comedy dialogue appropriate when listening to an irate customer. For some reason, they don't seem to appreciate it when you quirk a smile while they rant.
For me, writing isn't work or a hobby; it's breath. Some people have a flair for cooking - I don't remember the last time I turned on my oven. Some people have a green thumb - I managed to kill a cactus plant I was given that only needed water once a month. But words...crafting them into something they've never before been and will never again be is a calling that I've felt far longer than my 7+ years in the financial services industry.
I think I was 8 years old when I wrote my first book. The pictures were thumbprints that were turned into little mouse people and at the time Freddy Kruger was the big bad guy of the moment so my slasher mouse was Freddy Mouser. I'm not even going to try to tell you that the book was any good, but y'all cut me some slack...I was 8. :)
After that, I started writing and have never looked back. I might have a book that was bound and published in an elementary school though I can't even remember what my submission for it might have been - or the name of the elementary school for that matter. (We moved around a lot).
What I do know for a fact is that the mystical and elusive muse has been kind to me over the years, never being stingy. To date I have completed four full-length novels and have a number of other works in various stages of the development process. I very much look forward to the day when I can get all those characters and their conversations out of my head and share them with you.
Currently, I live outside of Dallas, Texas with my husband Jay - who has been amazing about not calling the men in white coats to come for me when I suddenly start talking about fictional people and their imaginary crimes- and our three furry children: Buddy, Chloe and Sydney Cat.
For anyone who is actually still reading, I'll go ahe...More >>
