My name is Hallah John Paul Boltik. I am a fine art painter who is currently showing works throughout Tennessee and North Carolina. I was relocated here to Knoxville Tennessee from New Orleans during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Previous to living in New Orleans, I resided in New York City for over a decade, and during that time I was the Art Director of The Boy's Club Of New York, as well as selling art in several galleries and in SoHo.
Although I engage in many artistic practices, I am most interested in painting abstract florals and also what I define as "disappearing wilderness landscapes". I enjoy painting flower species that are endangered or extinct, with the aim of raising awareness about the fragile interconnectivity of all living things and the effect of human existence upon our natural world.
I am blessed and grateful to have hundreds of paintings all over the world, bringing enjoyment which will long outlast my lifetime to countless eyes and hearts and souls and minds.
At this point of my life and my artistic path, and after all that I have experienced and survived, I know that this is what God intends for my life.
I hope that you enjoy my work!! It can be viewed at: www.hallahart.com

A1L abArts Presents “AFTER THE STORM”
An exhibition of Hallah John Paul Boltik's paintings rescued from New Orleans after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
(08/06/08/K noxville) –A1LabArts Presents “After The Storm”, an exhibition of Hallah John Paul Boltik's paintings rescued from New Orleans after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. “After The Storm” coincides with the 3rd year anniversary of the aftermath of Katrina. A portion of all sales will be donated to the Southern Arts Federation Emergency Relief Fund and Project HEAL (Helping Employ Artists Locally) a non-profit organization sponsored by the Acadiana Arts Council in Lafayette, LA. Project HEAL assists artists impacted or displaced by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The exhibit runs from September 5th – 19th with the opening reception on September 5th from 6 PM – 10 PM with Cajun cuisine, wine and live music at A1ArtSpace, 201 Randolph Street, Knoxville, Tennessee.
Self taught fine artist, Hallah John Paul Boltik, specializes in abstract floralism and disappearing wilderness landscapes. He works primarily with oils and acrylics on canvas and wood incorporating three dimensional and carving techniques in his work. “Hallah”, as his works are signed, also paints on reclaimed materials including wood, slate, brick, stone and tile.
In early 2005, John Paul Boltik moved to New Orleans. He successfully sold his art in galleries in the French Quarter with other artists in Pirate's Alley until Hurricanes Katrina and Rita devastated New Orleans and the surrounding areas. Hallah salvaged most of his paintings from the ruins of his studio apartment when he was able to return after Hurricane Rita.
Thankfully, due to the sturdiness of the materials and the use of heavy polyurethane varnishes, most of his paintings survived. After escaping the horrific aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Hallah John Paul Boltik and the two dogs he rescued from the flooded streets were evacuated to Knoxville, Tennessee. Despite losing everything, Hallah began painting scenes of beauty and serenity in April 2007. The works included in “After the Storm” are truly a part of art history and many of them offered for sale for the first time.

Thanks for the invite to the Last Friday in Marysville. I really wish I could make it, but we just got back from San Francisco and any more traveling will have to be postponed. At some future time I'd really like to come and check it all out. I really appreciate the thought of you inviting me, tho. Thanks so much! Will you be exhibiting? If so, I hope you are successful and sell some art. Good luck!
